Options for Independence

Hours of Operation: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-4:00pm; Friday, 7:00am-1:00pm. We are closed for major holidays.

Criteria for Receiving Services: Eligibility for some services is based on economic need, however most Independent Living programs are available to all people with disabilites at no cost. For more information or assistance, contact an Independent Living Coordinator at Options. Basic personal and demographic information is required for the initial intake. Other information is gathered based on intial intake and needed services.

Procedure for Connecting with the Service: Call our office directly or stop by and pick up an application. Depending upon your demographic location, you will be assigned to a specific IL Coordinator (caseworker) who will schedule an appointment (intake) with you. Services will be provided based on the initial intake and according to people's needs.

Fees: A $25 deposit is required for people who request leg rests and are borrowing wheelchairs from our Loan Bank. For the Community Integration Program (CIP) activities and grocery shopping consumers are charge $1 each way for transportation. Depending upon the type of CIP activity, consumers are responsible to pay for their own meals, etc unless otherwise specified by Options.

Additional Information: Options Loan Bank helps with Assistive Technology (AT), like: wheelchairs, commodes, toliet raisers, walkers, canes, bed and couch canes, transfer benches, shower chairs, crutches, power chairs, ramps, etc. People will come in and borrow the AT for a 3-month period, but extensions are made on a case-by-case basis. Options Receptionist, Veronica Cabrera, and AT Coordinator, Janice Deelstra, are over this service.
